Oakridge Butcher:
A Visual Identity Project
For this project, I had to create a brand that solely focused on selling one type of product. Some of the ideas that I had before were good, but I wanted to challenge myself to do something different than what I've already created. So, I ended up settling on a butcher shop that delivered cuts that were eco-friendly and zero-waste.
LOGO ITERATIONS
Most of the logo iterations I had created featured a cow and a tool to symbolize a butcher shop, however, it conflicted with the brand message. Being eco-friendly doesn't convey well when you have a knife in the logo. I ended up moving forward with the last logo and explored some explorations.
Color explorations for the brand were the next step. I went for a bolder choice by using purple and shades of maroon. For my portfolio, I wanted this to stand out compared to my other projects.
CATALOG
ITEMS
After picking a color scheme, I moved forward with ideas for what products to include. I wanted to make sure that the products our services offered emphasized "zero-waste".
Once I had my ideal items that I wanted to add to the inventory, I used my chosen color scheme to create the products.
WEB & MOBILE
COMPONENTS
In addition to creating a catalog of products, I also drew sketches for web/mobile components. The goal here was to have an online storefront that allowed for customers to customize their order and manage their subscriptions.
ADVANCED CONCEPTS
After some work deciding which visuals and concepts would move forward, I started creating the final iterations below. It was fun to turn these concepts into product images and see how the brand could expand.

FINAL THOUGHTS
If allowed to take on this project again, I would look to improve refinements to the overall brand in general and have more rigid rules for the brand guidelines. I would also explore creating prototypes for how this could look for web and mobile. Overall, I'm proud of doing something outside my usual genre of work and producing solutions throughout this process. Hope you all enjoy!
