I love going to the movies.
I know I’m not the only one. There is truly something magical about being immersed in the theater and seeing one of your highly anticipated movies. If you were like me in 2018, you remember the hype of Avengers: Infinity War. What made the hype intense was the promo and marketing for that movie.
In fact, for every movie, the marketing and promo are crucial to bring in that ideal audience to see the story that’s been crafted. One of my favorite examples of promos is movie posters.
I’ve always admired movie posters, especially the hand-drawn ones. In recent years, there have been talks about how generic the posters have become, and it’s now on creatives to craft some unique posters. Below, I’ve included some of my posters I’ve made over the years - some which you may have seen before!

FAVORITE POSTERS I’VE MADE
Here are some of my personal favorites I’ve made over the years. If you’d like to see more - I’ve included a gallery of some of my other posters below!
SPIDER-MAN:
ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE
This is one of the most recent posters I’ve created - and it all started from a thumbnail sketch I made visiting family. The concept I wanted to toy with was the idea of The Spot making portals with different Spider-People popping out. I believe this was one of the more popular posters I’ve made to date.
THE BATMAN
There was a poster I originally planned to release - only for it to be remotely similar to the teaser poster. To pivot, I aimed for a similar style to a comic book cover and the Riddler’s handwriting from the trailers.
An alternative with a play on the question mark motifs by the riddler.
SPIDER-MAN:
NO WAY HOME
As I created some posters over the years, I noticed my style and skill improving. This was one of those cases where that was put to the test. I thought I wouldn’t have time to create a poster.
For context: I had just gotten home from finals and had purchased my ticket to see it over the weekend. I remember going to my iPad and just getting to work on it. I had created a fun tease based on the rumors of previous Spider-Men appearing, so I slightly included those in. Over 2 days, I worked on this poster - to which commentary from the internet claimed it to look “official’ and even better than the other posters. I’m pretty proud of this one!
THE LION
KING
One of my favorite childhood movies has been The Lion King. It’s common that in some of our favorite movies, we tend to resonate with the main character. I always felt I could resonate with Simba and his journey as he navigated his path. I initially wanted to include some other characters like Timon and Pumbaa. Instead, I opted to showcase the different life phases of Simba and his journey. I had fun replicating the realistic look of the lions while making it burst with colors.
It was fun for this to go viral, even the voice actor for Young Simba reposted it!
STAR WARS:
THE RISE OF SKYWALKER
After creating The Lion King poster earlier in the year, I wanted to take a shot at creating one for The Rise of Skywalker. Originally I wanted it to be a continuous poster, but after some edits and iterations, I created a group poster showcasing all the characters. Playing with the different lighting and elements were ashallenge at first, but it turned into a fun exercise. While not every element was drawn [due to time constraints], I’m proud of the turnout of this poster!
